The littlest Cooley [Mar. 20th, 2008|09:56 am]
A little early for her due date and a little late for St Patrick's Day, Sarah Ainsley Cooley made her exciting entrance yesterday morning.

Sarah had decided that she didn't want to play nice and spin upside down even though she was 3 weeks before her due date. Rather than calling it a day and scheduling a c-section, our doctors decided to do a version, where they try to manually turn the baby by pushing on the belly. Three quarters of the way through the procedure, Sarah decided that she wasn't having it and her heart rate dropped and didn't rebound. Our doc (who is freakin amazing) made the call on the spot and had her out via emergency c-section in seconds flat. I barely had time to get my mask on before she was staring me in the face.

Everyone is happy, healthy and resting comfortably. She's a little bigger than Meg was (6lbs 3oz vs 5lbs 15oz, 19 3/4in vs 19in) even though she is technically 3 weeks early. What an exciting day!

Hope everything is well with y'all!

Whoops - forgot to enter her picasa site: picasaweb.google.com/dwcooley

growl, growl, growl [Mar. 29th, 2007|08:50 am]
This is one of those days where you really feel like your life is miserable and wonder why you continue on. Of course, when you really look at your 'problems', they really aren't that bad, but still. I'm very pissed off, negative, disgruntled and depressed today and I think I'll bask in it for a while.

I survived...for now. [Mar. 28th, 2007|07:35 am]
Finished the Ocean Drive Marathon! It was a struggle at the end, but I managed to run across the line and not walk. My legs started severely cramping around 22 miles, and I almost didn't make it. I also had a severe cramp-up in the massage tent following the race that was memorable. Mom, Dad, Alicia and Megan were all there to cheer me on, which was most excellent.

save the margaritas.... [Jul. 3rd, 2005|09:58 pm]
SAVE THE MARGARITAS..

..was the last thing that went through my head right before the blender pitcher tumbled out of the fridge, hit the glass shelf and shattered. And guess who made the valiant attempt to catch it?

For my gallantry I recieved a nice 2+ inch gash across my forearm, a 3 hour visit to the ER and 8 stitches that will leave a scar that I'm sure the chicks will dig.

Happy Fourth!

all i gotta say, is on nights like this, i miss the Art.

actually, it's on many nights that i miss the art. found The Pit on Chatropolis buried beneath "Chicks with Dicks" and "Let's Pee on Each Other". It was never the same after it left magma.

Incidentally, I looked up magmacom.com, and it looks like they've actually got a decent page up there. Like they're a real company or something

OH..and while I'm at it, guess what PC Gamer says was the big 'thing' at E3? Yep, you guessed it.

ZOMBIES

Honk my hooter, I wish my free time was my own.

Stuff [Oct. 21st, 2004|10:37 am]
First of all, since it's bugging me and I need to rant on it for some stupid reason, Metallica has officially entered into my own personal blacklist. I know that they've been lame for a long long time, but some little teeny tiny part of me still had a soft spot for them. I used to really enjoy cranking up 'Master of Puppets' on my tape walkman. I even sort of got over my annoyance with their whole anti-musicsharing crusade (or forgot about it). But now, I think they've finally gone and ruined it. Little Brother brought back word from their latest show in Phila that they have now adopted a policy of not playing until all alcohol-related concession sales have ceased. Apparently Hetfield has gone sober and won't play until they stop selling booze. To be honest, I could care less if they sold alcohol at the arena. It's overpriced and makes me pee and I get that whole stage fright thing while trying to go with 500 guys lurking behind me staring at my back. But come on - they're a rock band. Can the frickin' moral and political stances and PLAY. *sigh*

Now that I got that out, lady and gentleman, allow us to proceed with arrangements for DexCrushGhostCon '04. Chicago? DC? Phila? Vegas? Plans must be made so that they do not slip into oblivion and DexCrushGhostCon '04 becomes DexCrushGhostCon '0x.

Those were the days... [Oct. 11th, 2004|10:27 pm]
October 11, 1997. Do you know where you were? I do. Slam dancing in the Bellmawr Fire Hall.

I know this 'cause I just watched the video. Y'all are too funny.
